Hello everyone, this is Nicolas Barriere. Some of you I’ve had the pleasure to meet and others sadly not. I’ve been working on a lot of things for the past week and I wanted to share it with it everyone. Principally:
- Ironing out the last few kinks in the Game Script. The script is now at its 4th iteration and I encourage to go read it as soon as possible.
- Making functional schematics of the Game Script. The script is actually quite exhaustive and this simply synthesizes the important points of the level progression.
- Making maps for every area traversed by the player during the course of the level. Detailing everything for the 2D artists and 3D modellers. Now there’s actual visual reference for all of the areas covered in the Game Script!
Here there are:

Hey everyone, we talked about this a while back and I actually did work on these a while back, but whatevs.
Here are some suggestions as far as having an official logo goes.

So Nic made a really cool map of the city:

Now this isn’t very practical when it comes to making actual game resources. So I vector’d the map and indexed the building numbers.
Why? Because of naming conventions. When you say: I’m working on building #20, there are NO ambiguities.
Here is the naming convention for 3D files pertaining to the city and models/textures of the city:
All models of buildings are to be put into the Art section of SVN (whatever its name is). Then: Buildings/[Building Number]/["Models" or "Textures"]/[buildingId_[iteration].ma
example: /Art/Buildings/20/Models/20_3.ma
The map will evolve with time. It is important that all changes be re-uploaded to this post. I also include the original SVG file, if anyone needs to make changes to it.
UPDATE!: Now with color-coded height-maps.
UPDATE!: Now with building descriptions and heights!

Here is the 3D sketch I made of the obese wheelchair guy. I made it in 3D mainly because its faster than drawing for me. The entire 3D sketch took about 3 hours while the 2D drawing of the head only took 2 hours.
